All New Series 5
June 4th, 2007 - Another ANS5 Error discovered
First spotted on Saturday February 24th in a sports collectibles store in Chester County, Pa.
ANS5 showed up in Texas, Missouri, New Jersey, and Wisconsin on February 28th.
The new series made its way to Illinois and New York on March 1st.
Then hit Ohio and New Hampshire on March 3rd.
Walmart Bonus Boxes (B4 Vise) appeared in Illinois and Oklahoma on March 3rd, and Michigan on March 4th!
Target Bonus Boxes (B5 Vulture Valley) came to Illinois on March 5th, and made their way to Kentucky, Maryland, California, and Tennessee by March 9th.
Although the Walmart boxes came first, Target is stocking stores faster nation-wide.
Note that Target Bonus Boxes are up front with the sports cards, but Blister Packs are in the toy section.
In early April, over a month after the initial release, Toys-R-Us and Blockbuster Video began selling 2-Packs, and the Topps website finally issued an announcement.
We got our first look at the uncut sheets on April 13th.

It seems there are several back variations in this series --
The 27 stickers with pieces to the three large puzzles do NOT have variations. All of the remaining 28 titles have been found with variations. A full set with alternate backs is 83 cards.
All of the backs are upside-down. And a guy on Ebay has some variations due to the backside of the sheet being printed rightside-up. We'll have to wait and see if that is a one-time occurrence.
All 55 titles were chosen as of mid-October 2006.
Topps advertised their upcoming Color Key Proofs on February 16th, showing four ANS5 titles - Apple Jerks, Homey Smacks, Jerk in the Box, and Popsi
GoDivas, Lorna Doom and Witches have been pushed back to ANS6. Quacker State will be #50 in the ANS5 base set.
See the Preliminary Checklist
They are bringing back the
Toys-R-Us bonus box, in addition to Walmart and Target, so we should see 6 bonus
stickers. The Toys R Us box
was cancelled again, so we're back down to 5 bonus stickers.
The blister packs will not have gum, and contain
4 packs rather than 2, doubling the cost per bonus sticker.
Also, the bonus sticker in the blister packs and bonus boxes will be hidden inside one of the packs, rather than the cello wrapper.
The Diamond Preview lists the magnets at 1 in 12 packs. But we have been told magnets will be 1 in 8, and foilso1 in 4 packs.

as a bonus sticker as #50 in Series 5.
The year 2007 marks the 40th Anniversary of Wacky Packs, and I'm hoping for something spectacular. Maybe a 40 foot tall Crust balloon in the Macy's Parade?
Series 6 is scheduled for July/August of 2007.
