Notes from the artist:

"John Zeleznik was the final painter, and I'm flattered by how faithful he stuck to the design, while improving it. The Gadzooka teacher wasn't a conscious inspiration (though I'm sure she was someone's auntie). However the position of the character was an intentional reference to Han Solo frozen in carbonite from The Empire Strikes Back. I expected that Topps would want additional verbal jokes and was surprised when it came out as-is."
